Question by Robin: Are there actually any stable jobs in the film/TV/video making industry?
I love making videos.
Humor videos, stop motion videos, all sorts. I love writing scripts and I’m pretty good at it.
However my parents keep telling me that I can just do that on the side for fun but to pick a more “Stable” career like a pharmacist or something.
Are there any actually stable jobs in the film/tv/video making industry?
Because my cousin majored in digital arts and learned how to make videos and stuff but she could never actually get a job in that field. She’s just like a bank teller now.

No there is not. In order to even break in the field, you need to know people inside already. Second, production companies open and close almost daily. Sure you can do it for a few years and get lucky….but unless if you have Oscar worthy talent, you won’t ever be stable. You have better odds of being a starting left fielder in the majors….LITERALLY!
