Question by SHARN: Romeo and Juliet humour?
In the play old montague and old capulet add humour to the play, i am looking at act 1 sence 1. The promblem is I don’t see or get this humour. What qoutes are funny? Why? Where shall I start?

The humor comes from two very old men saying they want to get into the middle of a fight, and their wives stopping them. When old Capulet calls for his sword, for example, his wife replies “A crutch” – as if to say, “At your age and your condition you need a crutch in your hand, not a sword.”
Perhaps it’s not really very funny, but that’s where the humorous intent is in Act 1 Scene 1.
