Question by Dennis V.: How to make my gaming video commentary good?
So I just recently created a gaming channel for my facebook page. I have 168 Fans on my Facebook page, and I just decided to make a gaming channel for fun. I am only in the starting phase, so I have only 1 gaming video up. I played Team Fortress 2 for that video. There were issues, so I couldn’t commentate, and there had to be music the whole game. I thought about it and I was wondering. How can I make my videos more interesting? I know commentating is a huge thing, so how could I make my commentary interesting? If I live commentate, then I’ll be boring like this: “Oh hey…Oh did you see that? He got me good. Oh snap, dang he is good………Let’s go over here, *Dies* aw dang man. Did you see that? Aw “. Yes, very boring. I thought of maybe doing commentary after the video, so recording it, and then making commentary, but I can’t think of any stories to tell. I know that stories are interesting to tell, but it’s as if I forgot everything. I just want my videos to be interesting, fun and so people would enjoy them. I know this process isn’t overnight, but I just want to make fun videos. Any suggestions on how to commentate them fun or how to make them more interesting? I want to enjoy making them, and have people enjoy them! Thanks!

Hey there! I too run a gaming channel and I’m close to hitting 300 subs.. but enough about that, I want to help with your problem.

When I first started doing commentary I sucked majorly, it comes with practice I found that doing test recordings of your commentary always helps because you can always find a way to improve it when you play it back.

Don’t talk about whats going on in the video because the viewers can see what’s going on for themselves.

Talk about maybe whats going on in your life.
to be funny, like maybe MisterFantasmo on YouTube.
Don’t be dry with a boring voice

A few important things to remember:
1 – Don’t get nervous
2 – Plan what your going to talk about in advance of making the commentary.
3 – Don’t ramble about nothing
4 – Mention what’s going on in your life maybe? talk about the your gaming channel?
5 – Get in touch with other popular youtubers and ask advice
