Question by Ariel: Is humor part of greatness?
I’m trying to prove that Huck Finn is a great novel because it has satiric humor in it. Now does humor necessarily mean great literature? Can’t a sad novel that is not funny at all be great too? Does humor have to be part of greatness? What do you think, help!! thanks in advance.

People read books to escape reality. You, as an individual may like humor more than the other person, and because of this when you read, you want to leave into a humorous world. Reading is a past time. To answer this question, you’re probably better off defining what exactly is a great novel, and what makes a novel great. Then then you might probably want to put in your opinion on how ‘humor’ is what makes the book great. you might want to define humor, then quote the book a couple of times and convince the teacher that without the “humor”, the book wouldn’t be as fun as a read, and it wouldn’t be the great book it was today.

idk, something really dramatic like that.
